About Andrew:
I'm Andrew Sydney (he/him), a Boston native who traded the cold for the Carolina sun to raise my family, though I still miss the snow when ski season comes around. I earned my master's degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and have spent 12 years in clinical practice, building a private practice and a trusted referral network across the Charlotte region.
I work with adults (18+) on anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD and executive functioning, life transitions, and relationship and communication challenges. My approach is person-centered and solution-focused, drawing on CBT and DBT when they fit. We'll start with what's going on for you, then build practical skills and next steps you can use outside of session.
Sessions are laid-back and judgment-free, a space to vent, reflect, and take a breath without feeling under a microscope. My goal for your first session is simple: I want you to leave feeling a little more hopeful than when you walked in.
I built Beacon Light to be the kind of place I'd feel good sending someone I care about. Our group practice lets us match more people with a therapist who understands their needs and feels like the right fit.

About Maddison:
I’m Maddison Hofmann (she/her), and I work with children, teens, young adults, adults, and families as they navigate anxiety, depression, chronic stress, life transitions, and the times when life simply feels stuck.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a true collaboration. You don’t need to arrive with all the answers or even know exactly what you want to change. My role is to meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and give you space to slow down, process what you’re carrying, and move toward healing and growth at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy and draws from evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengths-based approaches, and play therapy for children. Because no two people come to therapy with the same experiences or needs, I tailor our work to what feels most useful and meaningful to you.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will help you feel safe being yourself and work alongside you through life’s challenges, we may be a good fit. I offer in-person, virtual, and walk-and-talk therapy appointments.
